You guys! It is April already!
This month looks jam packed!
I am currently home in Green Bay for Easter. I head back to Saint Paul Monday. I am already quite excited to head back. I cannot wait to move there in August!
Anywho, here's what is in store for the month!
April 11th I will be interviewing for the Education Program at Concordia. I am beyond nervous for this-it decides my future. What could be more nerve-wracking than that? I have yet to find out about what time I will be doing the interview process, but I am eagerly awaiting the email that will tell me my fate.
April 17th & 18th I am babysitting my cousins overnight. I am super excited about this! My aunt and uncle proposed this idea when Trevor and I visited when we got back from Spring Break. I'm loving the idea of spending more time with my cousins, and I'm hoping we watch their favorite movie: The Sound of Music.
April 18th is Trevor's 21st birthday! We don't really have plans figured out yet-but I'm hoping we celebrate at a restaurant so I can be a part of the festivities as well. I'm still in the process of buying his gift-he's so picky!
In addition to the above dates, Trevor and I need to tour apartments and find one we will be living in next year. Trevor will also be shooting for a new client, and I may be second shooting with him.
April will certainly be a busy month, but I'm excited for the adventures it will hold! I think it will be a fantastic time of preparation for the wedding as well.

Spring Break 2015
I realized I never gave the full scoop on what went down Spring Break 2015.
Honestly, most people would probably consider what I did for break boring. I didn't go anywhere cool or exciting. I went home to Green Bay.
This was really nice for me. I had not been home since December 29th, so it was almost three full months since I had last been there. It's crazy realizing next year I'll probably only be back for Christmas during the school year.
Anywho, here's what happened Spring Break 2015:
Friday: March 6
Trevor and I left Saint Paul around 4 pm. I drove for part of the way, but my knees get irritated from long drives, so it was only for about an hour and a half. That gave Trevor time to finish typing up a paper he had to finish for that night.
When we arrived in Green Bay we stopped at Smart Cow. While we're in Saint Paul, we discuss how we need to find a new froyo place to go to. But it always go back to how nothing will ever beat Smart Cow. So we made sure to stop first thing back in town. Then we brought Trevor's things to his place and watched an episode of Bob's Burgers. By the time I got dropped off it was about 10:45.
Saturday: March 7
Originally I was going to see Kammerchor, a choir from CUW, at Pilgrim. But I decided against it. I headed down to CUW around 4 pm and made it down at 5:30. It was so great being greeted by my friends there! We walked to the bluff and went all the way down the stairs and back up.
Then we headed to the Nest for dinner. After dinner we went back to their room and played Quelf and Cards Against Humanity. It was probably one of the weirder groups I have played CAH with..they took out a lot of the really funny cards due to inappropriateness. But we made it fun nonetheless. After games we watched Baby Mama, which is like my all time favorite movie. After that we all went to bed, clocks had to spring forward an hour and I already knew I wasn't going to get enough sleep!
Sunday: March 8
Karlee and I woke up early to go to church. I have missed that beautiful chapel. If you are ever on campus, be sure to visit the chapel because it is breathtaking. The others met us for brunch afterward at the cafeteria. I forgot how delicious CUW's food is. And now they have a waffle maker and iced coffee machine! Why did I leave that place?! After stuffing our bellies full we headed to Lion's Den Nature Preserve. We went there last year and it was fun to take my camera along and get shots now that my photography has improved.

After some fresh air, we went to Goodwill. I got some good deals! I purchased two new books, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and a Hillsong CD for right around $8! Emma then suggested that we go get shamrock shakes, which I am always game for! After MickeyD's, I headed back to Green Bay.
Monday: March 9
Monday was the day of appointments. I had a dentist appointment and an eye appointment. I hate the dentist. But I love my hygenist. Claudia is the best. And she knows Trevor's family really well, so she was asking me all about the wedding. My eye appointment is enjoyable as well. My eye doctor really cares about his patients and takes time to get to know them well. After finally making it home, my family and I went to Pizza Ranch! We walked in the doors, and Trevor came out from in back and very bluntly asked, "What are you doing here?" Not the sweetest welcoming. At least Alexis was excited to see me!
Tuesday: March 10
Trevor and I treated ourselves to our favorite Mexican place: Margarita's! We then had our first session of pre-marital counseling! It went quite well, at least I would say it did. After leaving Pilgrim, we visited Lambeau field. We explored the newly renovated pro shop. And dang. The Lombardi Trophy statue is quite impressive.
Wednesday: March 11
Wednesday was my free day. I left it open in case I needed to just sit and do homework, which never happened. In the morning, Trevor and I went and shot photos for a band playing at Washington Middle School.
Later in the day I had another dentist appointment.. I tell ya, I hate the dentist.
Thursday: March 12
Thursday was ladies' night! I got to see some old friends from high school again! It's crazy how time flies by. I had a wonderful time with some lovely ladies. If you want more of the details, go to Rae's blog. She's got the inside scoop. But I will add in that I drank two full size Arizona Raspberry Iced Teas and have probably never peed so much in my entire life.
Friday: March 13
Friday was an exciting day! Ana and I went on a photoshoot! We first headed to Josten Park. I wasn't sure what type of shots we'd get, but I was satisfied.
Our photos downtown, however, were even better. These photos are honestly my best work thus far. I love working with Ana. She is so easy to direct and she makes my job so much easier!
After we were done shooting, she dropped me off at Fonferek to help Trevor and his friend Eddi shoot a music video. We were there forever. I was cold and hungry. You can sure bet I complained a lot.
Once they finally finished, Trevor and I met Bekah at Cup O Joy to see Loftland! It was one crazy dance party. They're super good live. Trevor is there newest fan girl ;)
Saturday: March 14
We left Green Bay at a decent time and made it back to Saint Paul with enough time to hit up Mall of America. I have never been so disappointed in my life with Charley's Subs. They let me down. I wanted a chicken california sub, but their grill was broken! However, I did get an adorable top and the comfiest sweatpants in the world from CottonOn.
Sunday: March 15
The final day of Spring Break. Always a sad day. We went to church and then headed to my aunt and uncle's for lunch. We had burgers and good conversation! I love their insight on life and wedding planning. My uncle is hilarious. And Trevor loves their dog Wrigley! I'm so excited to babysit for them April 17&18! The evening concluded with me working a shift at Noodles & Company.
All in all, I had a lovely break. I got to see so many friends and have a lot of laughs.

Back At It
Coming back from a break from school is always difficult. I'm not the only one, right?
For some reason this bounce back seems even more difficult than usual.
Getting back into the swing of work, having a real schedule, and classes just isn't feeling right.
I recently did a little renovation on my photo blog. And I'm loving it.
Now you can view more of my photo collections-which means more views of my work.

My photo is under the "My Faves of Yours" portion toward the end! How awesome, am I right?!
I'm so glad my work is getting out there!
However, it's getting me thinking. Possibly overthinking.

Work Out
In college, I have struggled with having healthy habits. I find it hard to consistently work out and to eat well. Who has time for that?
A week ago, I made a decision.
I am going to work out. Consistently.
I need to look good for my wedding right?
Well, I think even without working out I would look just fine for my wedding. I bought a dress that fits me perfectly. Also, I have not gained any weight in college- I have actually lost 5 lbs from high school.
So why am I working out then?
Why bother?
My current workout regimen is more than just going to the fitness room for 30 minutes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after my 8am class.
My routine is also involving to read my Bible before I go to bed.
This is an area where I need the most improvement. My spiritual fitness.
I need to improve my relationship with my Creator.
So how have I been doing that?
My Our Living Faith professor (who I am not a huge fan of in all honesty) told us one day that he thinks everyone should read Romans 8 and 12 at least once a week, if not more. So that is where I have started. Last week I read Romans 8 early in the week and Romans 12 later on in the week.
This week, however, I read both last night.
I was having a huge personal battle last night and was on the verge of destruction. But something in me made me pick up my Bible. I first read through Ecclesiastes 3 which helped me calm myself. Then I flipped to Romans 8. The first verse made me cry my eyes out.
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
I deserve death and suffering. But I am in Christ, so I have that death sentence revoked. How crazy?
Even with all of my sins and mistakes that have been so prevalent lately, I am not condemned.
God's grace astonishes me.
This is why I am working out my spiritual fitness. So I can find verses like Romans 8:1 and feel a connection. To know that God is speaking to me right then and there. He's seeing me in my situation. The Spirit is directing me to the very verses I need the most.
How amazing is our God!
So I encourage you to start working out. If you haven't been to the gym in a while, I don't blame you-it's hard. If you haven't opened your Bible in a while, I understand.
I'm not telling you to go sign up for Planet Fitness and to join a Bible study. However, at the very least, open your Bible once a week and read a chapter.
It's crazy what can happen.

Pre-Spring Break Excitement
I have never been one to have extravagant spring break trips, remove my Europe trip.
This spring break will not be extravagant in the sense of traveling to somewhere warm and getting a nice tan in my bikini, however, I think it will still be quite extravagant.
I am so excited for this spring break because I will be home for a week!
Saturday to Sunday I will be down in Mequon visiting my wenches, who I have not seen since last May (except for Bekah).

Monday I have a dentist and an eye appointment scheduled. I keep getting harassed by both offices, and figure I need to get these appointments done with while I am still on my parents' insurance. I definitely will need to stock up on contacts while I have the chance!
Tuesday, Trevor and I have a meeting with Pastor Toenjes. We did our online questionnaire early January and I am excited for our first official session of marriage counseling. However, I am a little nervous. I'm not sure why though.
Wednesday, I have nothing planned, so maybe I'll surprise Katherine at school with lunch or something.
Thursday is a work in progress. I'm hoping for a good ladies night with some of my high school classmates, but the details are still being worked out. It would be so nice to spend a night with them all again!
Friday I am hopefully taking photos with Ana. If it does happen, I'm going to not only use my Nikon, but also my new film camera, a Pentax K1000! Then later that night, we (Trevor, and hopefully Ana and Bekah) are going to see Loftland at Cup O' Joy. I am really interested to hear their new sound since they have sort of changed their "look" recently.
Saturday Trevor and I will head back to Saint Paul.
I'm thinking that this will be a fantastic time home. It's crazy that I have not been home since late December.
Now to make it through this week of school!

PLUS Time
Last semester I was working pretty consistently at PLUS Time. Playful Learning with University Students. It's an after school program for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade at an apartment complex near to Concordia.
I continued working there as this semester began. However, things were different.
Last semester I was a student worker. There was no dispute about this at all.
As this semester began, a new supervisor came into play. He was less reliable than the other two supervisor. He also happened to be supervising Tuesdays, my main day there. I brought up some of his areas he needed to work on to our faculty advisor, so they could be worked on. However, her response was to make me "back up supervisor," meaning when he couldn't make it last second, I was to be in charge. This shifted quickly to me being supervisor completely.
Now supervisors are paid an extra dollar an hour ($9.00), but you also attend two hour and a half meetings and must also have extensive lesson plans for each of the days you supervise. As a future teacher, I love to develop lesson plans. But not for this particular group of students.
At PLUS Time, it is a large group of diverse students. This diversity is not only ethnically, but religiously, and age as well. There are also a few students who are extremely hard to work with.
As much as I know my experience at PLUS Time will strengthen me for my future classroom, I also question how diverse my future classroom will be. I am an LCT (Lutheran Classroom Teacher) minor, which means I will receive a call when I graduate Fall 2017. I will be in a Lutheran classroom. This will eliminate quite a bit of religious diversity. I am not saying there will be no diversity, but I highly doubt the levels of diversity I will experience will be to the heightened extremes as are found at PLUS Time.
I recently emailed my faculty advisor saying I cannot work there anymore. I did not want to become supervisor because I already have a lot on my plate. I am a full time student. I work at Noodles. I am planning my wedding. I am interviewing for program this semester. I need time for Trevor. AND I need time for myself.
I have become overcommitted here and needed to regain my sense of time management. So that is what I have done.
I will miss some of these kids though.

Throwback Thursday

When I'm older and have kids, I plan on being the parent that sits with their kids and watches a movie before they go to bed. Preferably a Disney movie. I kind of got this "inspiration" from my aunt and cousins. They choose a movie whenever I see them at my grandma's and we all curl up closely and watch the movie and sing a long with the songs. It's always a great time to get closer with them. Plus I've seen my little cousin, Lucy, really fall in love with the characters. She wants that Prince Charming she sees in the movies.
I realize that I do really have plenty of time to decide on what I'm going to major in in college... But I've been thinking.
Early Childhood Education?
I'd never really considered it, but looking back, I love little children and how inspiring they can be. And even more so, how great their love for Jesus just radiates out of them in a way that can only be found in them. Faith like a little child!
So maybe this will be the path I'll go down....

So basically none of this is true anymore.
Also-over half of these responses were easily influenced based on the guy I liked at that time's opinion.
Despite a lot of the embarrassing stuff I have on my blog, it makes me realize that some of that stuff I dreamed about is actually happening.
That major I wasn't sure of, I now know is the right choice.
Prince charming worked out too. Even though half of the posts on my blog are about a wide range of other guys.
Things work out.
You just have to give them time.
And don't assume everything will be perfect in high school (like I did.)

Interviewing
If you don't enjoy college-I feel sorry for you.
Well, that was a bit blunt. But honestly, college has held some of the best times of my life so far.
One huge milestone that will be coming up for me in college is my interview into the School of Education. By interviewing and getting accepted, I will be able to do my practicum and student teaching. Both of which are necessary to get my teaching license and to graduate.
I got the all important email today.

I emailed back promptly, saying that I will be interviewing this semester.
As much as it excited me as I emailed her back, it now terrifies me.
For one, I have not finished any required human relations reports. I have one in progress, but it has a bit to go.
Also, I am no where near done with my eFolio!
I have so much to do!
I voiced my concerns to Trevor.
He is such a blessing.
I love this guy.

Work
I work at both Noodles and Company and an after school program called PLUS Time.
I work at Noodles on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
I work at PLUS Time on most Tuesdays and Fridays.
So yes, Thursday is my night off from work. Why Thursday? Because I have a night class on Thursdays from 6 to 8:50.
This week at Noodles I am scheduled 24.5 hours. At PLUS Time I signed up for 6 hours.
I am absolutely exhausted!
I am currently writing this during my break at Noodles, in an attempt to sort of de-stress. Is that even possible?!
Today I work here from 12-2, 3-8:30.
Tomorrow I'll be here from 11-4, 4:30-7.
It's just a rough week.
At least my bank account will look a little nicer...

So yes, Thursday is my night off from work. Why Thursday? Because I have a night class on Thursdays from 6 to 8:50.
This week at Noodles I am scheduled 24.5 hours. At PLUS Time I signed up for 6 hours.
I am absolutely exhausted!
I am currently writing this during my break at Noodles, in an attempt to sort of de-stress. Is that even possible?!
Today I work here from 12-2, 3-8:30.
Tomorrow I'll be here from 11-4, 4:30-7.
It's just a rough week.
At least my bank account will look a little nicer...

To Do...Eventually?
Have I mentioned how much I hate growing up?!
I am so beyond stressed already this semester-it's crazy!
Last night my roomies (well the two that are also ED majors) and I are were discussing interviewing this semester to get into the ED program.
Scary,eh?
I still have one of my MTLE (Minnesota Teachers Licensure Examinations) tests to take {I signed up shortly after the discussion--FEBRUARY 10!}.
I have my entire efolio to do.
I have several letters of recommendation to have written.
I have two human relations papers to write for classes this semester.
That's just a little insight of what my "to-do list" looks like currently..
Maybe I should have bought that adorable Shit To Do book at Typo yesterday!

Lots of Thoughts
School always makes me look at things in a whole new way.
I guess I think about different things more philosophically perhaps.
Right now it feels like I have a lot thrown at me.
I want to be an adult. But at the same time, I wish being a little kid and being carefree.
Planning for the wedding has not been as tedious as it was earlier on while choosing date and location and whatnot.
Last night Trevor and I were grabbing sodas from the vending machine. He mentioned how the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra was starting their new set of symphonies they would be playing. He said that he would love to again. The Ordway is a beautiful place to listen to amazing, high class music. I said I would like that as well. Being at the Ordway and listening to such fine classical music really makes you feel like an adult. Not old, but sophisticated and like you have your lives together.
With everything Trevor and I are handling right now, I certainly do not feel like we have our lives together or figured out at all.
We don't have an apartment figured out for next year. We have no clue where we will live at all.
We have basically no furniture for next year. I am not staying with a twin bed for two people!
We are both still in school and neither of us have schedules figured out.
I will have the option to student teach wherever I will like, so potentially out of state if Trevor and I would like to move from Saint Paul earlier than me graduating. That is something that will need to get decided on sooner rather than later for budget reasons.
We both are unsure of what our job situations will be like next semester. We only have one car so we will need to get new jobs closer to our nonexistent apartment.
It just feels like everything is compounding quickly.
Don't get me wrong, I am beyond excited to get married to Trevor.
I do not want to push off the wedding or move in together before marriage or anything that may be suggested.
I am content with our decisions because I do feel they will be the best for us.

Now to stop stressing and get some homework done!

Week One
Well the first week of second semester has come to an end.
Man did it ever drag!
I am taking six classes:
THL 270-Our Living Faith (m)
KHS 110- Dynamic Health and Human Movement (g)
BIO 100- Biology Today (g)
MUS 121- Listening to Life: Global and Popular Music (g)
ED 330- Human Diversity and Relations (M)
ECE 324- Language Development & Emergent Literacy (M)

I have a rather interesting mix of classes. Obviously I am still finishing up a few of my gen eds. I think next semester I will just have one and the rest will be for my major/minor!
Along with ED 330 and ECE 324 I am required to complete human relations hours. I need to do 15 hours for each class. ED 330 will have the focus of different cultural groups other than my own. ECE 324 will be focusing on English language learners. Some of these hours I will complete at work at PLUS Time, so I will not have to go out of my way for those. However, not all of my hours for all of my human relations reports can be done at the same location. I still have two more reports to do in addition to the two for these classes. One of the reports I have completed the hours for already.
It will certainly be a busy semester.

Wedding plans had slowed down a bit last semester, but now they need to pick back up!
Exciting things to mark off the list: bridesmaids' dresses, officiant, possible catering services, ceremony musician, [invitations nearly finished, guest list almost completed]! Big things are happening! Only 198 days!

Books Blues
This semester I am taking 17 credits. The same as the past two semesters, so I'm not too concerned. However, this semester, 17 credits comes in the form of 6 classes and about 11 books.
Yes, 11 books.
How can I possibly afford 11 books?! 6 of them cost $420.
I don't think anyone should have to pay money for books for gen ed courses. I certainly don't want to be spending over $100 on a biology book.
I'm going to have to pick up a few extra hours at work to ever make back this money.
There goes anything nice for my wedding.

2014 Recap
Wow! It's already New Years Eve!
I cannot believe 2014 has already come to a close.
It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming it in.
2014 had lots of events for me.
I got engaged, transferred schools, got a few different jobs, began taking a lot more photos, and started my H&M shopping addiction.
Amidst the big events, a lot of little stuff happened too.
Some I am not proud of, but others I am really proud of.
I am not going to go into specifics, but all in all--2014 treated me well.
I know 2015 will be even better and I cannot wait to see what is in store.
The key event on the radar: the wedding!
Lots of planning and decisions are to be accomplished over these next few months since the wedding is early August.
I wish you all the best in 2015.

End of Classes
Today was the last of my classes for Fall Semester 2014!
I have exams starting Monday at 8 am. But nonetheless, I am done with all of the instructional material!
Now the fun part-studying.
Ugh.
Such a dread.
But the reward at the end will be worth it! I will be home from December 19th (late at night)-until December 29th! 10 whole days! I have not been home for that long since I left for school in August. It will be weird being home again though. I have become so accustomed to my Saint Paul ways after all.

Wednesday
Originally I was going to post this Wednesday--but I remembered (at the last second) that it was WISE WEDNESDAY.
Oof, that was close!
Anywho.
Wednesday I went to the studio with Trevor for a while. He's working hard on his junior project, which is due Monday. I actually quite enjoy going to the studio with him because I get to see him doing stuff he really loves. And his finished product always amazes me. I am so blessed to have such a talented man in my life.

I finished the first version of my outline for my paper in Lutheran Confessional Writings. As much as I dislike that class, I don't mind this paper. However, a full sentence outline sucks-regardless of the topic. I'll take another look at it sometime soon. It's due Monday..

Miss Productive
Well ladies + gents.
Today I did enough stuff to proclaim myself productive!
That doesn't happen too often, especially while I'm here in Saint Paul.
I got home from Trevor's around 1:30 and immediately set out to begin cleaning.
I vacuumed our carpeted area (living room, hallways). I even moved the furniture to do so.
I swept the kitchen and bathrooms. They were absolutely disgusting.
I then was going to mop. However, we only have dish detergent. So I made do, and hand washed our floors.
I also took out the garbage and recycling, which has been sitting in bags by the door for several days now.
My biggest task of the day was rearranging my sink area. It seems to get dirty way faster than it ought to. So I moved most of my stuff into drawers and cabinets that seemed more appropriate than leaving all of my products out in the open. I'm hoping this solves some of the issue.
Well, that was basically my day.
Now to begin on some homework.
Ugh.

Alone
Well yesterday after classes began my Thanksgiving break. Crazy to think we have an entire week off!
During my week off my plans include:
-eating a lot of poptarts
-homework
-cleaning our apartment
-enjoying the peace and quiet of being alone
-snuggle with myself under my electric blanket
Trevor decided he wasn't going to go home for Thanksgiving, and we had already decided holidays were happening together this year. So that meant I was staying here during my week off. This is probably good, so I actually get my necessary homework done.
Today at work I brought my Ed Psych book and did homework during my hour off (I worked 12-3, 4-8). All my coworkers probably think I am a nerd now. Oh well. I have so much to catch up on and get ahead on..It's enough to drive me insane!
