My Nanny Saga Comes to an End

This next week will be my final week with Natalie.
Crazy.
It seems like the summer has just begun, and yet I had to give Natalie's family a notification of when would be my last day with her.
We're trying to slam out what was on our Summer 2014 list of things to do, but I know we won't finish.
Friday we had quite a bit of fun though!
We had some more fun with chalk...

I also made her an adorable flower crown. I wanted one for myself, but we picked barely enough flowers for one for her...

We also made some delicious layered drinks, but I didn't get a good picture of them. Our bottom layer (with the highest sugar content) was Ginger Ale. The next layer was Lemon Lime Gatorade. The final layer was Sprite Zero. I was nervous it wouldn't work, and the flavors would mix, but my worries subsided when the Ginger Ale and Gatorade stayed separate. It was quite a fun drink for a hot summer day!

Nanny Shenanigans

Week one is done.
Week two is cut short due to a funeral and family obligations.

What have we done?
Oh so much!
Well Natalie is addicted to peanut butter, so naturally we have made peanut & butter sushi.
We've made popsicles & shakes, too!
Natalie is quite the arts and crafts girl... Since Father's Day was on this past Sunday, she made her dad a few presents: tape art on a canvas & the hands card. Natalie also told me she wanted to learn how to finger knit, so we've spent some time learning that.
For these first few weeks of summer, she has swimming lessons. Her dad insists on us biking the two miles to the pool and then back after. (It's made for some sore mornings on my part!) I've missed biking around like I used to all summer..however, driving is so much more convenient.

Today, it's been raining so we've been working on getting through her jobs this morning so we can watch a few movies later!

Here are a few pictures from the two weeks so far!

Duty calls, until next time! ♥

New Nanny Job

I officially have a new nanny job for this summer! Woohoo!
She's eight years old, an only child, and loves dance.
I think I have a challenge ahead of me.

The parents seem quite nice, but have some rather contradictory expectations for me to meet.
They want their daughter to be pushed, but to also feel comfortable.
They want her to be outside almost all summer, with little electronic use, but we are supposed to stay in the area.
We are supposed to bike 2 miles to her swimming lessons for 3 weeks straight, but I can occasionally drive her elsewhere if need be (e.g. Wildlife Sanctuary).

Off to the lovely land of Pinterest to get some good ideas of how what we can do outside all summer, cook, and so on.

The Start of Summer 2014

It doesn't feel like it should be summer yet, at least not to me.
I kind of feel like something is missing in order for it to actually be summer. What? I'm not sure.

This summer I'm back working at Pizza Ranch. At first I was quite upset about this. I didn't want to go back to my first real job, especially because of a) the reasons I'd quit and b) the circumstances as to why I needed to return.
However, I need the money.
Thankfully, I'm getting scheduled a decent amount so far at work, which is a huge blessing.
I've also been contacted by a family about nannying for their 8-year-old daughter over the summer! It wouldn't pay as much as nannying for the twins last summer did, but it'd be consistant hours, which Pizza Ranch can't guarantee. Sadly, taking the job would mean I'd have to cut down on Pizza Ranch availability dramatically, as I'd be nannying Monday-Friday 7:15-4:15. But I'd be enjoying my job so much more.

As it's probably quite easy to tell, this summer is full of work and not much else.
Thankfully I've had plenty of time with Trevor so far, which has been simply amazing.

Here's to an unforgettable summer.
Summer of 2014.
